MOM LTVP pass issuance requires the IPA, entry and issuance records, then card registration within the stated one-week or two-week period.
MOM LTVP pass issuance starts after approval, not when the application is submitted. The family must use the in-principle approval within its validity period, complete issuance in Singapore and, if directed, register fingerprints and a photo within one week for an S Pass dependant or two weeks for an Employment Pass dependant.
Keep the IPA, issuance submission, notification letter, registration acknowledgement and card delivery record together. These documents prove different stages and should not be treated as interchangeable.
Read the IPA validity for the sponsor’s pass type
MOM’s LTVP application page states that an approved dependant of an Employment Pass holder has six months to enter Singapore and get the pass issued. A dependant of an S Pass holder has two months.
For this reason, use the exact date on the IPA as the working deadline. Record the applicant, sponsor, pass type, approval date, expiry date and planned arrival. Do not copy one family member’s date into another person’s tracker.
The IPA includes a pre-approved single-entry visa where applicable. Check current travel and entry requirements separately, and bring the applicant only after approval as MOM advises.
Prepare the issuance file before arrival
List the documents and information needed for issuance from the IPA and EP eService. Confirm the applicant’s passport validity, Singapore address, contact details, medical requirement where stated and the sponsor’s current employment and pass status.
In practice, the earlier MOM document page governs relationship records for the application. Keep those records available in case MOM asks for clarification, but do not upload a full private family file unless required.
Agree whether the employer, appointed employment agent, main pass holder or local sponsor handles issuance for this route. Give the authorised filer the verified information through a secure channel.
Do not rely on a visit pass extension
MOM says it cannot extend an expiring visit pass while the LTVP is waiting to be issued. Check lawful stay independently from the work pass process and leave enough time to complete issuance.
At the same time, if a delay threatens the applicant’s stay or IPA validity, use the official request channel and obtain appropriate immigration advice. Do not assume that an appointment booking or pending upload creates an extension.
Keep travel plans flexible until the pass is issued. A family housing or school deadline should not cause an incorrect declaration or unlawful overstay.
Save the notification letter after issuance
Successful issuance produces a notification letter. MOM states that it allows the foreigner to travel while waiting for the card, records whether fingerprint and photo registration is needed and is valid for one month.
As a result, Save the complete letter and note its expiry. If more time is needed for card registration, use the official request route before it lapses. The MOM work pass request guide routes requests to extend a notification letter or card registration period.
Check the name, FIN, pass type, sponsor and address immediately. Report an error through the proper channel instead of altering the letter.
Register fingerprints and photo when directed
For an LTVP linked to an Employment Pass holder, registration is at the Employment Pass Services Centre within two weeks after issuance. For an S Pass dependant, it is at MOM Services Centre Hall C within one week.
However, book the required appointment and bring the original passport, appointment letter, notification letter and a mobile phone with a local number. MOM asks for Singpass and SGWorkPass to be downloaded for the registration process.
| Milestone | Deadline or timing | Record to retain |
|---|---|---|
| Use IPA and issue pass | Six months for EP dependant or two months for S Pass dependant | IPA and issuance acknowledgement |
| Register for EP dependant | Within two weeks after issuance, if required | Appointment and registration acknowledgement |
| Register for S Pass dependant | Within one week after issuance, if required | Appointment and registration acknowledgement |
| Receive card | Normally within five working days after registration or document verification | Delivery message and receipt |
Set up the digital pass
During registration, MOM captures the applicant’s fingerprints and photo and registers the person for Singpass. The dependant can then log in to SGWorkPass and view the digital pass.
If no in-person registration is required, the family should still follow MOM’s instructions to set up the digital pass. Check the status and expiry in the app rather than relying only on a saved screenshot.
In addition, Protect the applicant’s Singpass and device. The employer or agent does not need the person’s password and should not keep control of the digital pass account.
Track card delivery and failed attempts
MOM says the physical card is normally delivered within five working days after registration or document verification. The authorised recipients receive an SMS or email at least one working day before delivery.
A dependant can identify themselves with a passport or digital pass. An authorised recipient uses an NRIC, FIN or passport. Record the delivery address and authorised recipients correctly during issuance.
For this reason, after two failed deliveries, collection moves to the relevant MOM centre. Follow the published timing and bring the notification letter, applicant’s passport and any employer authorisation required.
Close the file only after every record matches
Compare the IPA, notification letter, digital pass and physical card. Confirm the name, FIN, pass type, sponsor and expiry date. Store only the necessary copies with restricted access.
The moving-with-children guide remains the pillar cornerstone. For relationship evidence, read the MOM LTVP document guide; the family pass medical and issuance guide explains another route. Related guidance appears on the Singapore Immigration and Relocation hub.
In practice, a complete issuance file shows a clean sequence from IPA validity to issued status, registration, digital access and card delivery. That sequence helps the family act on the right deadline without exposing more personal information than the process requires.
