Singapore enterprise grants in 2026: EDGE, EDG, PSG and MRA explained
A practical 2026 guide to Singapore’s enterprise support transition, eligibility questions and the checks to make before committing to a project.
The short answer
Singapore’s enterprise support system is in transition. Enterprise Singapore has announced EDGE for the second half of 2026, with the intention of bringing the Enterprise Development Grant, Productivity Solutions Grant and Market Readiness Assistance scheme under one umbrella. Until the operational rules and application route are live, companies should verify which scheme is accepting applications and which rules apply on the date they act.
What each established scheme was designed to do
EDG
EDG supports deeper transformation projects in core capabilities, innovation and productivity, and market access. A proposal normally needs a clear business case, defined outcomes, qualifying costs and evidence that the project has not started prematurely.
PSG
PSG is oriented towards pre-approved productivity solutions. The key checks are whether the solution and vendor are approved, whether the company meets the ownership and operating criteria, and whether the purchase has been committed before approval.
MRA
MRA supports eligible overseas market-promotion, business-development and market-set-up activities. Companies should define the target market and confirm that the activity and costs fit the prevailing rules.
Eligibility is not just incorporation
EDG, PSG and MRA have historically included a local-equity condition. A foreign-owned company registered in Singapore should not assume that it qualifies. It may instead need to consider financing, tax incentives, innovation support, workforce programmes or an EDB route, depending on its scale and substance.
Five checks before an application
- Is the commercial objective clear without the grant?
- Does the applicant meet ownership, size and operating requirements?
- Are the proposed costs and activities eligible?
- Has any contract, payment or work started too early?
- Can management demonstrate outcomes, resources and financial readiness?
