MRA Grant 2026: 70% support, the S$100,000 cap and new-market test

Understand the three MRA pillars, 2026 support level, S$100,000 market cap, project timing and overseas new-market eligibility test.

What MRA supports

The Market Readiness Assistance grant helps eligible companies expand into a new overseas market through overseas promotion, business development and market-setup activities.

2026 support and pillar caps

From 1 April 2026, Enterprise Singapore states that eligible local SMEs can receive up to 70% support, capped at S$100,000 per company per new market. Within that total, overseas market promotion is capped at S$20,000, overseas business development at S$50,000 and overseas market setup at S$30,000.

The new-market test

The applicant’s annual sales in the target overseas market must generally not have exceeded S$100,000 in any of the preceding three years under the current SME rules. Define the target market and check sales records before selecting an activity.

Application timing

Applications are generally submitted no more than six months before the planned project start. The company must not start work, sign the relevant contract or make payment before submission where this would make the application retrospective. Each application is limited to one activity in one overseas market, and a project generally may not exceed 12 months.

Core company tests

The current scheme requires a Singapore-registered and operating business, at least 30% ultimate local equity and either group annual turnover not exceeding S$100 million or group employment not exceeding 200.
