GST InvoiceNow support options: grants and free solutions

GST InvoiceNow support options include S$1,000 or S$5,000 transition grants, a S$25,000 Queen Bee Grant and free solution packages.

GST InvoiceNow support options now include a S$1,000 transition grant for businesses with annual supplies of S$4 million or less, a S$5,000 grant for larger businesses, a S$25,000 Queen Bee Grant for qualifying larger businesses and free solution packages. Applications for the grants opened on 1 July 2026.

Choose support only after confirming the business size test, onboarding plan and required solution. A free package or fixed grant does not remove the need to submit accurate invoice data to IRAS.

Use 2025 annual supplies for the transition grant band

The current IRAS GST InvoiceNow page places businesses with annual supplies of S$4 million or less in the S$1,000 grant band. Businesses above S$4 million in annual supplies fall into the S$5,000 band.

For this reason, IRAS defines the measure by total annual supplies made in prescribed accounting periods ending in calendar year 2025. This is linked to Box 4 of the GST return and includes standard-rated, zero-rated and exempt supplies.

Do not use group turnover, paid-up capital or the latest management accounts as a substitute. Reconcile the 2025 GST returns and retain the calculation used to select the grant route.

Test Queen Bee eligibility on annual turnover

The IRAS support summary lists a S$25,000 InvoiceNow Queen Bee Grant for businesses with annual turnover above S$4 million. It also says a business may qualify for both the S$5,000 and S$25,000 grants, subject to terms and conditions.

In practice, annual turnover and GST annual supplies are not interchangeable. Prepare a separate turnover calculation and read the current IMDA terms before assuming that the threshold alone creates entitlement.

A Queen Bee project should also have a real onboarding scope for the business network or supply chain. Record the participating entities, intended invoice flows, implementation owner, milestones and evidence required for any grant claim.

Compare the free solution package with the real workflow

IRAS states that free-of-charge solution packages are available up to 31 March 2031 and provide basic e-invoicing capability. The current provider list should be checked because package duration and features can differ.

At the same time, a small business may need only basic sending, receiving and IRAS submission. Another may need inventory, foreign currency, project accounting, approval workflows, API connections or several GST registrations. Test the actual needs before moving the books.

Confirm whether training, data migration, support, storage, user seats, future upgrades or payment functions carry separate charges. Free should describe the package, not an assumption that every related service is included.

Do not combine support without checking the rules

IRAS also notes that SMEs may use the Productivity Solutions Grant for eligible software subscription costs. Before combining any support, check the live scheme terms, supported cost, application timing and whether the same expense can be funded twice.

As a result, keep a cost schedule that separates software, implementation, integration, training, internal manpower and ongoing transaction fees. Mark the proposed support route and the company-paid balance for each line.

Check the current IMDA terms before applying

The IMDA InvoiceNow grants page is the controlling starting point for eligibility and application details. Record the page date, selected route and documents relied on.

Do not pay an intermediary merely because it claims a limited allocation. Confirm the official application channel and contact IMDA through the published form for eligibility, status or appeal questions.

For example, set an internal approval before submitting. Finance should verify the size measure, project owner, provider, cost schedule and declarations. The authorised applicant remains responsible for accurate information.

Prepare the evidence file before the application opens on screen. Include the 2025 annual-supplies calculation, turnover support where relevant, UEN, GST registration, provider proposal, onboarding scope, budget and named project owner. Keep the official acknowledgement after submission.

Do not describe the headline amount as guaranteed income. Eligibility, approval and claim conditions still apply. If the business changes provider, project scope or timeline, check whether IMDA must be told before the company relies on the support.

Keep compliance separate from funding

In addition, the support decision does not change the business’s mandatory InvoiceNow implementation date. A business that receives no grant must still comply on time, while a grant recipient must still transmit correct data through an InvoiceNow-Ready Solution.

Plan enough time for Peppol registration, provider configuration, transaction testing, error handling and reconciliation. IRAS says onboarding may take as little as three months and most businesses complete it within a year, depending on readiness and system configuration.

For example, a small GST-registered business with simple invoice flows may prefer a free package and use the S$1,000 grant for eligible transition work under the current terms. A larger group with several ledgers may need a paid integration and should compare the S$5,000 and Queen Bee routes without forcing a basic package into a complex environment.

For this reason, the Singapore tax compliance guide remains the pillar cornerstone. The implementation-date guide identifies the deadline, while the solution due diligence guide explains provider testing. The Tax Consulting and Advisory hub lists related guidance.

The best support record connects the correct size measure to an implementation plan the business would still choose without funding. That protects the claim and avoids adopting a weak system merely because the headline package is free.
