Singapore Dependant’s Pass documents vary by relationship and age. Prepare certified translations, vaccination verification and arrival timing before applying.
Singapore Dependant’s Pass documents depend on whether the applicant is a spouse, child or adopted child, and whether a foreign-born child is 12 or younger. Prepare the relationship record, passport details, any certified translation and the child’s vaccination-verification result before submission. Plan travel only after in-principle approval because a visit pass will not be extended while the application is pending.
Each family member needs a separate application. The main work-pass holder’s eligibility does not remove the need for complete supporting records for every dependant.
Confirm that the family member is eligible
MOM’s Dependant’s Pass eligibility page covers a legally married spouse and unmarried children under 21, including legally adopted children. The main holder must have an eligible Employment Pass, S Pass, Personalised Employment Pass or EntrePass and meet the applicable salary or business conditions.
For this reason, a common-law spouse, stepchild or child with a disability aged 21 or older generally follows the Long-Term Visit Pass route instead. Confirm the correct pass before ordering documents or making travel assumptions.
If both parents hold work passes, decide which parent will sponsor each child. Consider the sponsor’s pass expiry and employment plans because the dependant’s status is tied to the sponsor.
Prepare the core identity and relationship records
MOM’s list of Dependant’s Pass documents requires the applicant’s passport particulars page. A spouse needs the marriage certificate. A biological child needs the birth certificate showing the parents’ names, and an adopted child needs the adoption order or other relevant record.
In practice, Names, dates and passport numbers should be consistent across the application. If a person has changed a name, keep the official linking evidence. Do not crop a record so tightly that seals, page numbers or issuing details disappear.
Check passport validity before applying. A short remaining validity period can reduce the pass duration and create an early renewal task.
Handle non-English documents correctly
A document not in English needs an English translation. MOM accepts translations by a translation service provider, an embassy or a notary public. The submission should include the original document and translation as instructed.
At the same time, use matching spellings across the translation and passport. Where transliteration creates different English versions, explain the difference and provide supporting identity evidence if needed.
Keep a clear digital copy within the upload limit and retain the full-quality source securely. A compressed file should remain readable at ordinary magnification.
Complete vaccination verification for a young child
A foreign-born child aged 12 or younger who is applying for a new Dependant’s Pass generally needs verification from Singapore’s Health Promotion Board. The required document is the Verification of Vaccination Requirements certificate issued through the National Immunisation Registry process.
As a result, start early because vaccination records may come from several clinics or countries. The child’s name and date of birth should match the passport. If records are incomplete, obtain medical advice on the appropriate next action rather than changing the record yourself.
The certificate is a separate application dependency. A birth certificate proves the relationship but does not replace vaccination verification.

Record the issuing country, document date, translation status, upload filename and reviewer. Do not store passwords or payment-card details in the tracker.
For example, review the entire family set together. One parent’s marriage record and one child’s birth record may use different spellings for the same person, which is easier to resolve before submission.
Apply before the family travels
MOM’s application guide says the employer or appointed employment agent normally submits the application. The current application fee is S$105 per pass. Most cases are processed within the published service standard, but additional information can extend the time.
MOM advises that the dependant should not be brought to Singapore before approval. If the person enters as a visitor, the visit pass will not be extended because a Dependant’s Pass application is pending. Keep flights and housing flexible until the in-principle approval arrives.
In addition, check every application before payment. A wrong passport number, relationship or sponsor can cause delay and may require a fresh submission.
Plan around the in-principle approval window
The IPA gives the approved dependant time to enter Singapore and complete issuance. For an Employment Pass dependant, it is generally valid for six months. For an S Pass dependant, it is generally valid for two months. Use the date printed on the actual IPA as the controlling deadline.
After arrival, the employer or agent completes issuance and pays the current S$225 fee. A Multiple Journey Visa fee may also apply. MOM may require a medical examination, residential address, local contact details or other issuance information.
For this reason, Some applicants must register fingerprints and a photograph. The notification letter states whether registration is required and the allowed period. Add that appointment to the first-week calendar rather than assuming delivery of the digital pass completes every formality.
