Test whether EDGE ERP three functions create one integrated operating record and meet the current grant requirement.
EDGE ERP three functions must operate on one integrated platform. Three module names on a quotation are not enough. The company should show how information moves between the functions, which staff use it and what operating result will improve.
Start with the official function list
The current EDGE FAQ lists the accepted ERP functions. They include asset, field service, financial, fleet, human resources, manufacturing, project, supply chain and inventory, and sales and customer relationship management. Select functions because they match the business process, not because they are easy to label in a proposal.
Write one sentence for the problem within each chosen function. For example, sales staff may keep customer orders in spreadsheets, operations may re-enter them for delivery, and finance may issue invoices from a separate file. The application should make this current state visible before describing software features.
Prove that the functions are integrated
Integration means that a controlled data event in one function becomes usable in another without an informal re-entry step. Map the record from its first capture to its final use. Identify the field, owner, approval, handoff and exception. If the same employee copies data between modules, the project may still contain three screens but it has not solved the integration problem.
Use a small trace with three transactions. Follow a normal order, a changed order and a failed order. Record whether customer, product, quantity, price, delivery and accounting data remain consistent. This trace gives management a concrete acceptance test and helps the vendor define interfaces before the contract is signed.
Separate core functions from add-ons
A dashboard, chatbot, document archive or mobile app may improve the package, but it does not automatically create another core ERP function. Ask what business record the feature owns and which process changes. Training and data migration also support implementation, yet they are not separate functions. Keep the function count tied to actual operating responsibilities.
The official ERP activity page says the solution must include at least three functions and may use a pre-approved package or another vendor where required functions are unavailable. The EDGE ERP vendor-route guide explains the separate vendor-route choice.
Build an EDGE ERP three functions evidence table
Create four columns for current task, future function, shared data and measurable result. Add an owner and evidence source below each row. Useful measures include duplicate entries removed, processing time, error corrections, stock differences, approval delays and days to close the accounts. Do not promise a saving that the company cannot measure from its existing records.
The table should expose weak combinations. Financial management, reporting and invoicing may all sit inside one finance function. Customer records, quotations and sales orders may form one customer function. If two labels rely on the same work and data, revise the design instead of stretching the names to reach three.
Control the vendor proposal
Ask the vendor to identify every module, interface, licence, implementation service and excluded dependency. Match those items to the three-function table. Confirm who configures workflows, migrates data, tests roles and supports the cutover. A package name should not replace a clear scope.
Record optional items separately from the minimum operating design. This avoids a quotation in which the company depends on a costly add-on to make the third function usable. It also helps procurement compare packages on complete process coverage, not on the number of feature bullets.
Plan acceptance before applying
Define acceptance tests for each function and for the links between them. Include access roles, approval limits, failed imports, duplicate records, tax settings, audit trail and a rollback route. Name the business user who will sign each result. Vendor demonstration data should not be the only proof that the configured system works for the applicant.
Keep the test plan with the application file and update it when the approved configuration changes. The Singapore business support decision guide provides a wider baseline method for supported projects, while this ERP record stays focused on integrated transaction flow.
Use a practical decision rule
Proceed when three distinct functions solve linked operating problems, share controlled data and have named users and measures. Redesign the project when functions exist only as labels, the data remains separated, or the third module has no clear owner. Consider a single-function route when one focused solution better matches the real need.
The grant decision and the software decision remain separate. Enterprise Singapore determines support, while management remains responsible for selecting a system that works, protecting data and managing implementation. The application should be credible even if the company must fund the project without support.
A three-function ERP case becomes persuasive when another reviewer can trace one business event through the whole system. That trace is also the best protection against buying a large package that leaves the old handoffs unchanged.
Use a three-row acceptance record
Before submission, create one row for each selected function. Record the present task, current system, source data, target system, responsible user, upstream input, downstream output and measurable result. Then add a fourth row for the shared record that connects all three. This EDGE ERP three functions test reveals whether the proposal contains one integrated operating system or three loosely related purchases. It also gives the vendor a precise boundary for configuration, data migration and testing.
Make every measure auditable. Replace broad statements such as better efficiency with a defined baseline and a repeatable calculation. Useful measures can include minutes per transaction, duplicate entries per week, order-to-invoice time, inventory variance or month-end closing days. Preserve the dated source report and the person responsible for producing it. The same method should be used after implementation so the comparison remains meaningful.
Resolve weaknesses before committing to the vendor
Ask the vendor to demonstrate the complete process using sample records from the company, including an exception and a reversal. Confirm which integrations, licences, reports, migration work and training are included. Map every quotation line to the approved project scope and assign an internal owner. If one function is still only a future idea, redesign the scope before applying rather than stretching terminology to reach the minimum count.
The final review should reconcile the application narrative, quotation, project schedule, acceptance tests and expected outcomes. Each document should describe the same three functions and the same data flow. Keep an assumptions log for user numbers, transaction volumes, interfaces and legacy records. This compact record helps management judge the investment on its merits and creates a clean trail for later implementation and claim support.
