YA 2026 Seamless Filing From Software: control the submission

Use Seamless Filing From Software for YA 2026 only after reconciling accounts, tax adjustments, form eligibility, Corppass authority and the final receipt.

Seamless Filing From Software can reduce rekeying for a suitable YA 2026 Form C-S filer, but it does not turn accounting records into a correct tax return automatically. The company still needs a complete close, tax adjustments, authorised approval and proof that IRAS received the intended return.

Treat the software path as a controlled filing channel. The tax position remains the responsibility of the company and its directors even when an employee, software provider or tax agent supports the process.

Confirm the deadline and form first

IRAS’s Corporate Income Tax Filing Season 2026 page states that companies must file the YA 2026 return by 30 November 2026 unless a filing waiver applies. This includes companies with no business activity or a loss, subject to the specific dormant-company and waiver rules.

The page describes Form C-S for a Singapore-incorporated company with annual revenue of S$5 million or below, income taxable at 17% and no excluded claims such as group relief, carry-back, investment allowance or foreign tax credit. Form C-S Lite applies when Form C-S conditions are met and annual revenue is S$200,000 or below.

If the company does not meet the simplified-form conditions, use Form C with the required financial statements, tax computation and schedules. Do not force the software route by omitting a claim that requires Form C.

Close the accounts before mapping fields

Freeze the trial balance version used for filing. Reconcile revenue, payroll, fixed assets, related-party balances, grants, foreign income and major expenses to supporting records. Resolve suspense and unusual journal entries.

Prepare the tax-adjustment schedule outside the filing screen. Identify non-deductible expenses, capital allowances, tax-exempt income, losses, donations and other adjustments. Each amount should trace to a ledger account and source document.

Use the current YA 2026 tax rules. A software template can help with calculations, but settings may depend on the product version and date. Confirm that the software has the correct assessment year and latest tax changes.

Map the software output to the return

Document which ledger accounts feed each tax field and which items require manual adjustment. Review signs, units and rounding. A mapping that worked last year may fail after accounts, charts or tax treatment change.

Generate a preview and compare it with the approved tax computation. Check revenue, adjusted profit, capital allowances, donations, losses, chargeable income and tax payable. Investigate every difference rather than accepting the software total because the form validated.

For a company using a tax agent, agree which system is the master and who can change the return. Avoid parallel versions in the company’s accounting software and the agent’s workpapers.

Control Corppass roles

The filing-season page states that the employee or tax agent filing through myTax Portal needs Corppass authorisation as an Approver for the Corporate Tax (Filing and Application) digital service. A Preparer can enter information but cannot complete the submission.

Verify access early. Use named accounts and least privilege. Do not share Singpass or Corppass credentials with a software vendor, colleague or consultant.

Create a submission checklist naming the preparer, tax reviewer, director or management approver and portal approver. The person who clicks submit should receive the same final return that management approved.

Perform a final independent review

Review form eligibility, assessment year, financial period, UEN, revenue, claims, carried-forward amounts and tax computation. Compare prior-year balances and explain movements. Check that attachments and declarations match the selected form.

The IRAS page notes that directors remain responsible for timely and accurate filing even when a tax agent is engaged. Ask the reviewer to challenge estimates and unsupported adjustments, not merely confirm that every field is populated.

Our YA 2026 corporate tax form guide helps select the return. The tax-agent filing-authority guide addresses the agent handoff.

Preserve the submission evidence

After filing, save the final return, tax computation, software export, approval, submission acknowledgement and any validation messages. Confirm that the transaction status is successful and that the filed figures match the approved preview.

Do not close the task at the software’s send confirmation if the IRAS acknowledgement is missing. Investigate access, processing or technical issues through supported channels and retain the outcome.

When the Notice of Assessment arrives, compare it with the return and record differences. Payment is generally due within one month of the assessment even when a revision or objection is being considered, so keep the assessment workflow visible.

Retain a reproducible filing package

Store the chart mapping, frozen trial balance, adjustments, return, approvals and acknowledgement together. Record the software name and version, but do not rely on continued system access as the only evidence.

Review user access after filing and remove unnecessary tax-agent or employee permissions. Retain records for the required period under the company’s policy and applicable law.

The Singapore transfer-pricing compliance workflow is the tax pillar and shows the same principle of reproducible evidence. Seamless Filing From Software is valuable when it removes duplicate entry while preserving control. It is not a substitute for understanding the return that the company submits.

Prepare for corrections without losing the audit trail

If a material error is found after filing, preserve the filed version and document the cause, corrected computation, approval and official revision route. Do not overwrite the original export and leave no record of what IRAS received.

Use the issue to improve mapping or close controls for the next year. A correction register can distinguish software configuration, source-accounting, tax-judgment and access errors. That makes Seamless Filing From Software progressively safer rather than repeating the same reconciliation problem each filing season.
