GRT approved internship: close the 2026 claim

Close an approved GRT internship claim using the current deadlines, stipend records, internship evidence and Letter of Offer.

A GRT internship claim in 2026 is a closeout task for an existing approval, not a new company funding opportunity. Enterprise Singapore says company applications closed on 31 January 2026. Companies with approved applications should follow their Letter of Offer and submit the claim within six months from the latest internship end date.

Confirm that an approval exists

Start with the accepted Letter of Offer, application record, intern details, approved period and support terms. Do not rely on an internship listing or an old application draft. Record the latest approved end date because the current programme page ties the claim window to that date.

The current GRT company page states that company funding applications have closed and reminds approved companies to claim within six months from the latest internship end date. A company without an existing approval should not plan new stipend funding under this route.

Rebuild the internship chronology

Record the actual start and end dates, work location, periods of leave and any changes. Compare them with the approval. The current FAQ states that eligible internships under the closing company-support route had to start by 31 March 2026 and finish by 30 March 2027. The Letter of Offer remains controlling for the specific case.

Keep local, overseas and hybrid periods distinct. For overseas work, retain travel and placement records required by the applicable arrangement. If an internship changed materially, review the approval and official correspondence rather than assuming the revised period remains supported.

Reconcile stipend payments

Create a month-by-month schedule with approved stipend, actual gross stipend, payment date, bank evidence and any unpaid balance. Match payroll or payment records to the intern and the applicant company. Investigate cash payments, payments by another entity and corrections before submission.

The programme page describes minimum monthly stipend levels and historical support percentages for approved applications. Apply the terms in the company’s Letter of Offer. Do not recalculate an old approval from a general webpage or treat the maximum percentage as an automatic claim amount.

Show that a meaningful internship occurred

Keep the role description, learning objectives, supervisor, work records and final review. Evidence may include project outputs, meeting notes, skills feedback and an internship completion record. Protect personal and confidential information. A payment trail proves money moved, but it does not prove the supported development activity happened.

The GRT FAQ emphasises meaningful guidance from mentors and full-time participation. Record the supervisor’s involvement and how the intern’s work matched the approved role. Avoid creating retrospective tasks or inflated descriptions after the internship ends.

Check student and company facts

Confirm the intern’s approved institution and status from the original file. The FAQ describes the Singapore citizen or permanent resident and full-time student conditions for supported participants. Keep only the evidence necessary for the claim and handle it under the company’s privacy controls.

Confirm the applicant remains the same incorporated Singapore business and that the internship was delivered by the approved organisation. If a restructuring, overseas affiliate or payroll arrangement changed the facts, document it and seek current guidance before claiming.

Work backwards from the claim date

Set an internal evidence freeze at least several weeks before the six-month deadline. Ask payroll for the final payment record, the supervisor for completion evidence and finance for the ledger. Check portal access and the authorised submitter. A reminder is useful, but the company owns the deadline.

If the final internship ended on 30 June 2026, a six-month rule points to a deadline around 30 December 2026, subject to the Letter of Offer and official portal record. Record the actual date from those sources. Do not use this example as a substitute for the approved project date.

Close the file after submission

Preserve the submitted schedule, attachments and official acknowledgement. Record queries and responses. Do not treat upload completion or a quiet portal as approval. Reconcile the claim result and receipt when they become available.

Link the internship outcome to the enterprise leadership growth-plan guide and the company’s workforce plan. The immediate claim file should remain factual, while management separately decides how the capability, candidate pipeline or overseas exposure will support future growth.

GRT company funding is closing out, but approved internships still need careful records. A clean chronology, stipend reconciliation and supervisor evidence give the company a defensible claim without implying that new applications remain open.

Build a cohort closeout register

List each approved intern, institution, internship start and end dates, approved allowance, actual payment dates, supervisor and required deliverables. Calculate the claim deadline from the latest internship end date for the approved project, then confirm it against the approval terms and current official guidance. Use a second-person review for the deadline. Do not treat an internal calendar entry as the controlling source.

Reconcile the register to employment or internship agreements, attendance records, bank payment evidence and any programme forms. Investigate name, date and amount differences before submission. If an intern left early or the scope changed, document what happened and check whether a variation or explanation is required. Never alter records merely to make them resemble the approved plan.

Close the project in one controlled sequence

Freeze a dated claim folder, assign document names and create an index. Confirm that every file opens and that sensitive information is limited to what the programme requires. Have the supervisor verify the internship work and finance verify the payments. The authorised portal user should then compare the final claim fields with the reviewed index before submission.

Preserve the acknowledgement and official status after submission. If the portal gives no clear result, read the current record before retrying. Keep the folder until the outcome, payment and any follow-up are reconciled. Because new company applications are closed, this closeout article applies only to approved projects and does not imply that a company can start a new GRT funding application.
