SG Arrival Card correction before immigration clearance

An SG Arrival Card correction should be made before immigration clearance when a submitted health declaration or trip detail is no longer accurate. ICA specifically directs travellers whose health status changes after submission to use the Update SGAC feature. The traveller should preserve the new acknowledgement and check that it belongs to the current passport and arrival.

The SG Arrival Card is free and must generally be submitted within three days, including the day of arrival, before entry. It is not a visa. A corrected submission does not guarantee entry or determine the period of stay granted by ICA.

Identify what changed

Compare the submitted declaration with the current passport, itinerary, Singapore address, contact email and health position. State the difference plainly. A flight-number change is not the same as a passport replacement, and a health change requires the traveller’s current answer.

Use the official correction route

Open the official ICA SG Arrival Card page and follow its e-Service route. Do not use a commercial lookalike site or pay a third party to update the declaration. ICA does not endorse paid SG Arrival Card assistance.

For a health-status change, ICA’s published FAQ says to use the Update SGAC feature. If another field cannot be updated through the available function, follow the live service instruction or contact ICA. Do not alter a PDF acknowledgement.

Keep the correction within the arrival window

ICA requires submission within three days, including arrival day. When the arrival date moves, recalculate the permitted window. Do not keep an old declaration active for a different trip merely because the passport information is unchanged.

Coordinate a group without hiding individual responsibility

A group submission is for people travelling together on one trip. The coordinator can organise the correction, but each adult should review their own health and personal information. For a child or person needing assistance, the responsible adult confirms the current facts.

If one traveller changes flight or arrival date, decide whether that person still belongs in the same trip grouping. Keep acknowledgements at traveller level so the team can identify the corrected record without exposing everyone’s passport details.

Protect the new acknowledgement

Save the updated acknowledgement or PDF with the submission date and traveller name in restricted storage. Mark the earlier version superseded, but retain it where an audit trail is needed. Do not circulate full passport data in an open family or work chat.

Test the declared email inbox. Foreign visitors receive the electronic Visit Pass after clearance at the declared address and can later retrieve it through ICA. A correction should not leave the active record pointing to an inaccessible former email.

Read back the active declaration

Before departure, compare the active acknowledgement with the passport and confirmed itinerary. Check the traveller, arrival date and key changed field. If the e-Service provides more than one record, identify which one is current rather than assuming the latest screenshot is correct.

Do not confuse correction with entry permission

The ICA visitor guidance says travellers must still present themselves for immigration clearance and satisfy the entry requirements. A visa, where required, also does not guarantee entry. The Visit Pass period is decided at the checkpoint.

Keep customs declarations, visa records and later pass administration in their own workstreams. Updating the SG Arrival Card does not update an airline booking, visa, work pass or Customs declaration.

Handle a last-minute change calmly

If a material fact changes near departure, use the official service and preserve the result. Do not make a false declaration to avoid delay. Where the service is unavailable or the correct action is unclear, retain the error and contact ICA through its official channel.

Travellers who arrive without completing the required declaration may face delay while it is submitted. Build time into the travel plan, especially for families and groups, but keep accuracy ahead of speed.

Close the SG Arrival Card correction

The traveller or responsible adult should confirm the changed fact, official update, active acknowledgement and accessible email. A second person can perform a limited readback for a family group without retaining unnecessary identity information.

For business travel, the employer may record only that the traveller confirmed completion and the date checked. It should not collect health answers unless there is a lawful and necessary reason. The traveller keeps control of the declaration while the travel coordinator manages itinerary timing and practical reminders.

An SG Arrival Card correction is complete when the active declaration reflects the current trip and health facts, the new acknowledgement is preserved and the traveller understands that clearance remains an ICA decision at the point of entry.
