Corporate tax filing acknowledgement and assessment follow-up pack

A corporate tax filing acknowledgement pack proves what was filed, tracks the assessment and preserves the deadline for any revision or objection.

A corporate tax filing acknowledgement pack should prove which return was transmitted, when it was filed, who authorised it and how the later Notice of Assessment was reviewed. The pack closes the gap between clicking submit and confirming that IRAS assessed the intended tax position.

Create the pack immediately after filing. Then keep it open until the assessment, payment and any revision or objection are resolved.

Capture the exact submission

Save the final Form C-S, Form C-S (Lite) or Form C data, tax computation, schedules and attachments in the submitted version. Give the package a fixed date and version.

Record the company name, Unique Entity Number, Year of Assessment, form type, basis period, filing date, authorised Corppass user and tax agent where applicable. Do not store passwords, security answers or authentication tokens.

Compare the submitted figures with the approved filing pack. A draft stored before the portal session is not proof of what was transmitted.

Keep the acknowledgement page

The current IRAS Form C filing FAQs state that a successful submission shows an acknowledgement page and advises companies to save or print it. The FAQs also explain how an acknowledgement can be retrieved through the corporate notices and letters service.

Save the acknowledgement as issued. Record any portal message about supporting documents or follow-up action. Do not recreate an acknowledgement from a screenshot of the draft.

If the acknowledgement is missing, check the filing status through the official service before assuming that submission succeeded.

Verify status after the portal updates

The IRAS Corporate Income Tax Filing Season 2026 page states that filing and assessment status can be checked from three working days after filing through myTax Portal or the IRAS Bot.

Record the status check date and result. Resolve a duplicate, incomplete or wrong-Year-of-Assessment record promptly. A sent email from a tax agent does not replace the company’s own readback.

Keep evidence of any secure myTax Mail correspondence and additional documents submitted later.

Use a status history that distinguishes the portal’s current label from the team’s interpretation. Record the time of each readback, the user who performed it and the next expected event. This makes an unresolved portal position visible during staff handovers.

Build a submission-to-assessment reconciliation

When the Notice of Assessment arrives, compare chargeable income, losses, allowances, tax rate, exemptions, credits, rebates and tax payable with the filed computation. Explain every difference.

Distinguish an estimated assessment from a completed assessment. The IRAS after-filing guide describes the main assessment types and whether an objection is needed.

Do not close the file because the total payable matches an earlier estimate. Check the tax attributes carried forward and the basis of the assessment.

Protect the revision and objection deadline

IRAS states that a revision or objection should be submitted through the Revise or Object to Assessment digital service within two months from the Notice of Assessment date. Record that deadline when the notice is received.

Assign an owner to review differences, gather evidence and obtain management approval. Keep the original assessment and every revised computation.

An objection does not suspend payment. The filing-season page states that corporate income tax is payable within one month from the Notice of Assessment date even when a revision or objection has been filed.

Where the company needs additional facts from finance, another jurisdiction or a related party, request them as soon as the notice arrives. Set an internal review date before the statutory deadline so management has time to decide whether the evidence supports a revision or objection.

Track payment separately from agreement

Record the payment due date, GIRO status, amount and bank evidence. A company may pay an amount while disputing the assessment. Mark those as separate facts.

Reconcile later revised assessments, credits and refunds to the tax ledger. Investigate a rejected GIRO deduction or unmatched payment before the due date.

Restrict bank evidence to authorised staff and avoid copying full account details into general working papers.

Use an assessment follow-up table

Item Evidence Follow-up
Submitted return Final form and schedules Lock filed version
Acknowledgement IRAS page and date Confirm transmission
Filing status Portal readback Resolve mismatch
Assessment Notice and tax computation Reconcile every difference
Deadline Notice date Diary payment and objection
Closure Payment, revision and ledger Verify final position

Retain the company-owned record

Keep the pack under the company’s retention policy with restricted access. Include the management approval, tax-agent correspondence and evidence supplied to IRAS. Preserve a clear chronology.

Where a tax treatment, objection or dispute requires formal legal advice, coordinate with a Singapore law firm with the relevant tax speciality. Keep adviser roles clear.

Review the pack before the next filing so brought-forward losses, allowances and open assessments agree with the current return.

Keep a short closing memorandum that states the assessed position, payments made, outstanding correspondence and tax attributes carried forward. The memorandum should point to the underlying evidence rather than restating confidential details in an email or general task tracker.

Close only after final readback

Mark the file complete only when the latest assessment, payment, ledger, attributes and open correspondence agree. List any matter carried into the next Year of Assessment with an owner and review date.

The tax-agent filing authority guide covers pre-submission approval. The management representations register covers unresolved filing facts. The Singapore transfer-pricing workflow remains the pillar cornerstone.

A complete corporate tax filing acknowledgement pack gives the company evidence of submission and enough time to respond properly to the assessment. The Corporate and International Tax Consulting hub connects the wider tax library.
