Foreign company free Business Profile and 60-day check

Download the foreign company free Business Profile within 60 days, then check the branch details and retain a controlled copy.

A foreign company free Business Profile should be downloaded promptly from the Bizfile inbox and checked before the 60-day access period expires. The free copy records the branch’s registered particulars. It is useful for bank, vendor, licence and internal onboarding files, but only if the business confirms that the details match the approved registration.

The lodger should not leave the attachment in one person’s inbox. Download it, verify the record, save a controlled copy and note any correction or follow-up filing.

Know what the 60-day period means

ACRA’s 27 March 2026 announcement says the free Business Profile is delivered to the Bizfile inbox as an attachment within 15 minutes of a successful eligible filing. The download is available for 60 days from notification.

The foreign company post-registration guide also tells a newly registered foreign company to download its free Business Profile within 60 days. After that period, the free copy expires. This is an access deadline, not a period for postponing required company registers, licences or other post-registration work.

Record the notification date and calculate an internal deadline well before day 60. If the attachment is missing or inaccessible, raise the issue while the filing and lodger details are still easy to trace.

Assign the lodger and branch owners

The free product is available to the filing person. That may be an employee, authorised representative or corporate service provider. Name who will monitor the Bizfile inbox, download the attachment and hand it to the branch’s records owner.

The branch should separately name a reviewer who understands the parent company’s approved particulars. The lodger can retrieve the file, but the parent or branch remains responsible for deciding whether the record is correct.

Keep the handover evidence. A short record should state the filing reference, notification date, filename, download date, reviewer and final storage location. Avoid sending the profile through uncontrolled personal messaging accounts.

Check the identity and registration details

Compare the registered name, former name where relevant, foreign registration number, jurisdiction and incorporation date with the certified parent documents used for registration. Check the Singapore unique entity number and the registration date against the approval notice.

Review the registered office address and principal activity. The address must be the approved Singapore location, and the activity should reflect the branch’s intended operations. A profile is not a licence, so a listed activity does not remove the need for sector approval.

Check the authorised representative and other recorded positions against the approved appointment documents. If a name, address or office differs, identify whether the profile is wrong, the internal file is stale or a later filing has already changed the public record.

Use a 60-day check record

Field Compare with Action if different
Foreign company name and number Home registry evidence Check filing and certified source
Singapore UEN and date Registration notice Confirm entity selected
Registered office Office consent and lease Assess correction or change filing
Principal activity Entry plan and contracts Confirm description and licences
Authorised representative Appointment authority Resolve identity or appointment issue
Lodger and notification Bizfile inbox Complete evidence handover

Do not confuse a profile with a live search

The downloaded Business Profile is a dated information product. It proves what the registry product showed when issued, not what it will show after a later filing. Mark the issue date in internal use and obtain current information when a bank, counterparty or regulator requires it.

Do not edit the PDF or crop away identifying details. If an external party needs only selected information, provide it through an approved disclosure process or obtain the appropriate current product. Keep confidential identity information within authorised systems.

Where a profile is used for onboarding, record the recipient and purpose. A free copy should not circulate indefinitely simply because it cost nothing.

Link the profile check to post-registration duties

The same ACRA guide lists other immediate work: apply for Corppass, maintain required registers, check licences and permits, and address the public register of members. The profile check can confirm some starting particulars, but it does not complete those obligations.

For example, a correct authorised representative entry does not prove that Corppass access is working. A correct registered office does not prove that records are available there. Use separate owners and evidence for each obligation.

The branch should also decide who will obtain future paid or free information products after eligible annual filings. A repeated download and review can support the annual record check, but it should not replace the branch’s own statutory registers.

Correct discrepancies through the proper route

First check whether the apparent error came from the source document, the filing or the review. Then identify the Bizfile transaction required to correct or update the matter. Do not submit a speculative change merely to make the profile match an internal spreadsheet.

If the issue affects a bank, licence or contract already in progress, tell the responsible team what is confirmed and what is being corrected. Keep the filing acknowledgement and the refreshed profile or search product when the update is complete.

The ACRA Bizfile page explains that the portal supports registration, filing and business information services. Use the official portal and keep access under controlled Corppass administration.

Place the record in the market-entry sequence

The foreign company entry options guide is the pillar cornerstone. The post-registration checklist covers the wider first month, and the Corppass access guide addresses portal ownership. The Market Entry and Domiciliation hub connects related guidance.

A timely Business Profile check is a small but useful assurance step. It gives the parent and Singapore branch a common registry record before that information is reused across banking, licensing, tax and operating files.
